The Diana Award Recipient 2023
Established in 1999, The Diana Award is an international accolade given out in memory of Princess Diana. It exists to recognise and celebrate young changemakers between the ages of nine and twenty-five who have made a positive impact on society through humanitarian and altruistic activities. S M Mobin Sikder, founder of Science Bee, an educational platform, was honoured with the award for his contributions to online science education in Bangladesh. They have been hard at work to establish quality education and make science education more accessible and mainstream throughout the country.

Volunteer Opportunities organised the award-giving ceremony of Funding for Bangladesh – 1.0 on December 23 at Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB). to support social development workers overcome various social and financial obstacles.</p>
<p>A total of five winners were selected, each from a category: Science Bee from education, Nandita Surakkha from women empowerment, Arise Help for Child Foundation from health, Dhrubotara Youth Development Foundation from peace, and Patuakhalibashi from poverty.

The Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives, UNV Bangladesh, UNFPA, VSO, and WaterAid jointly organised an event, titled ‘Volunteering Contributions towards Community Development in Bangladesh’ recently in the capital’s Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel.</p>
<p>A total of 20 volunteers received the ‘IVD Bangladesh Volunteer Award 2021,’ as they played a significant role in community development.

The 2021 YGC Award attracted more than 500 nominees from over 47 countries around the world. The award conferment ceremony took place online on 26 September. Nahjae Nunes of Jamaica, S. M. Mobin Sikder of Bangladesh, and Nominmaa Ulziibat of Mongolia won the award in the ‘Grand Global Jury Commendation’ category.

Pandemic Heroes 2021 was launched on Thursday, September 2. Winners were selected from over 800 individual and over 70 organization submissions across 64 districts.<br />
Winners were shortlisted based on their contribution, impact, reach, and engagement in the categories of individual and organisation submissions. Ten winners of the individual volunteer category received a social action project grant of BDT 10,000, while the top three volunteer organisations respectively received grants of BDT 25,000, BDT 20,000, and BDT 15,000.
